Newest Member of the Dixie Chicks

Sen. Barack Obama was auditioning to be the newest member of the Dixie Chicks when, while campaigning for the Presidency of the United States of America, he apologized for America on foreign soil:

"I know my country has not perfected itself. At times, we’ve struggled to keep the promise of liberty and equality for all of our people. We’ve made our share of mistakes, and there are times when our actions around the world have not lived up to our best intentions." - July 24, 2008, Berlin, Germany, Europe, World

This is exactly the mind-set of a man married to a woman who for the first time in her adult life is proud of America.

The wounded American soldiers that Sen. Obama snubbed were actually relieved of the necessity of enduring his visit.

I don't think that it's anti-American to acknowledge that we aren't perfect and have made mistakes (no individual or country is). Indeed, I think one thing that hurts us is the view that Americans are arrogant about our country's stature and power.

That said, while acknowledging we're not perfect and have made mistakes, I'm very proud of our country, the ideals it stands for, and the things we've done to help others throughout the world. I just think a dose of humility is almost always a good thing, and don't think we should be so proud as to think we have been perfect and mistake-proof.

Conscience,

I don't have as much a problem with what Sen. Barack Natalie Maines Obama said, for the reasons you stated, as I do with where he sai it and to whom he said it. He went out of his way to apologize for America to get applause from Germans! Again, if he wants to be Secretary General of the United Nations, fine, but someone who wants to be President of the United States should express a little more pride in the United States.

You posted from the United States I hope and not from foreign soil.

I loved this post from Zacklyright and would love to submit to my local paper (major city- not Boston) but wouldn't want to plagiarize. Anyway, I couldn't agree more with you.

anonymous,

I insist, if there is ever anything you can use from my posts that will help elect people who care about protecting America, protecting the innocent unborn and acknowledging the effort of the American taxpayer, then use some of it or all of it . . . what you are reading from me are your ideas . . . I just happen to put them on a blog. They're your ideas, too!

he apologized on a stage before 200,000+ descendants not more than three generations removed from fascists who murdered over six million non-combatant men, women, and children. Forebears who tortured, maimed, gassed, bombed, shot, hanged, and otherwise VIOLATED the liberty and equality of a continent of people (as opposed to "struggled to..."). Forebears who invaded north, south, east and west in the name of racial superiority. No country in the HISTORY OF THE WORLD has done more to ensure the liberty and equality of its people as well as the people of other countries (Exhibit A: Iraq, Exhibit B: Afghanistan, Exhibit C: Kuwait, Exhibit D: Korea, Exhibit E: FRANCE!). The fact is Sen. Obama's action was offensive and is ANOTHER example how Alderman Obama is not qualified to lead the free world.
