Yes! Democrats Have Filibuster-Proof Senate!

On June 19, 2009 I typed an outstanding piece on the prospect of a filibuster-proof majority for Democrats in the United States Senate. I recommend everyone go re-read it.

Today, Sen. Norm Coleman conceded the 2008 Senate race to liberal extremist Al Franken.

By tomorrow you will be reading how insignificant this is to the White House and by Monday or Tuesday of next week you'll be reading how 60 is not really 60.

Gasoline is spiraling toward $3.00 a gallon; bloody, incompetent Democrats!

I never tire of being ZACKlyRight.

Friends,

This is an excerpt from a news story on-line at the Wall Street Journal today that will appear in tomorrow's edition:

"The Democrats' enhanced majority could enable them to bypass Republican filibusters, easing the passage of sweeping health-care and climate-change bills. But that dominance is tenuous, given that the party is showing fractures over those and other issues.

What's more, Democratic Sens. Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts and Robert Byrd of West Virginia are seriously ill and have rarely voted in recent weeks. In addition, Democrats are prone to defections on any given issue. Ultimately, then, the balance of power in the Senate lies with centrists in both parties who can be swayed on particular bills."

Now go back and read my June 19 post.

Amazing!
